Helpful Links

Here are a few links that I use regularly, thought I'd share them with you!

Goat-Link - This is a great site for learning tons of stuff about goats!

Fias Co Farm - This site is a treasure trove of goat husbandry information!

Fir MeadowFir Meadow is a good herbal information site, plus they have a shopping cart for the products that they sell.  This is where I buy all my herbal mixes.  Kat Drovdahl, owner of Fir Meadow, is a Master Herbalist.

Dr. Hulda Clark - Dr. Clark is a PhD and ND, and has lots of information about alternative medicine.

Cornell University - Poisonous Plants Informational Database.  This is a reference that includes plant images, pictures of affected animals and presentations concerning the botany, chemistry, toxicology, diagnosis and prevention of poisoning of animals by plants and other natural flora (fungi, etc.). The information presented here is NOT a complete database of all plants that are poisonous, but attempts to cover many of the plants that grow in the U.S. that may be poisonous to livestock. While some information is presented about plants poisonous to pets and humans, this is not intended to be a comprehensive resource.

WADDL - Blood testing lab.  This is the lab that we use every spring to test our herd for CAE.  They are the most respected.

BioTracking - This lab just recently started testing for CAE.  They use the ELIZA test, the same type that WADDL uses.  They are wonderful to deal with, plus they give you the percentage of inhibition on each animal - VERY interesting!!!

Dairy Goats Plus Forum - This is a nice forum.  Fun place to chat about goat stuff.  :)

YAHOO GROUPS

Here are some Yahoo groups that I'm a part of, they are a great resource:

TotallyNaturalGoats - I started this group on November 18th, 2008, we'd love it if you'd like to join! We do not discuss drugs/chemicals on this group - only herbs, minerals, vitamins, homeopathics, etc.  We are unique in this, as far as I know.  ;)

Home Dairy Goats

HDG911 - this is a sister group to "Home Dairy Goats".  It is for goat related emergencies.  Other goat owners provide helpful advice for your goat's health problems.

Med-A-Goat911 - another great group for goat health care emergencies.
