Our entire herd is NEGATIVE (that's good
) for the following diseases CAE (Caprine Arthritis Encephalitis), CL (Caseus Lymphadentis), Johne's Disease, and Brucella. This is either through direct testing (that goat), or as the kids of our "already tested negatives". We've tested through WADDL for CL, Johnes, and Brucella in the past and are clear of those diseases. I'd like to pull blood on the whole herd and test them all directly for CL, Johnes & Brucella through WADDL sometime, just to have it down in black and white again (I've kept kids from our does since the last time I tested for these diseases - a couple years ago.) We've also tested negative for Toxoplasmosis and a few other diseases in the past, but this testing was not through WADDL (before I knew any better.) ;D We test yearly for CAE, and we are negative on all goats we have ever owned for the 4th year in a row now (tested March 14th, 2009) Praise God! For more information about blood testing, see "WADDL" our "Links" page. I tested through BioTracking this year, and was VERY IMPRESSED!
As I keep a small herd, I can give them all my personal undivided attention, i.e. make sure they get regular hoof trimming, worming, scratch on the head
,etc. I have put together a little information about them and put up pictures of each one below.
